Personalise your obstetric journey.

Experience can be your best asset on the journey to parenthood.
Extensive experience with diverse clients ensures we are well equipped and skilled to provide a high quality tailored experience. With two decades of experience in clinical obstetrics and gynaecology practice I have the confidence and sound knowledge to manage high risk pregnancies, including twin pregnancies, IVF pregnancies, donor pregnancies, first time mothers who may be worried about their age and mothers with pre existing medical conditions. Being part of Sydney’s longest running, female obstetrics on call group, you will at all times be cared for by a highly qualified, female obstetrician.

Your first consultation

Your first visit usually takes place between the eighth and tenth weeks and is the longest consultation, lasting about one hour. A complete medical history is obtained and an examination is performed. For some, the ultrasound taken at this visit will be the first time you see your baby. This scan provides useful information about the age or gestation of the pregnancy.

What to bring

  • Copies of ultrasound reports and NIPT result.
  • Copies of blood test results from your GP (antenatal screen).
  • Referral from your GP, enabling a Medicare rebate.
  • Plenty of questions.
  • Your husband, partner, family member, or friend, are welcome at any appointment.

Important follow-ups

At each visit, your blood pressure is checked and the progress of your pregnancy is monitored. An ultrasound is usually performed at each visit. Additional visits after the first at 8-10 weeks usually last about 15-20 minutes and occur at: Week 15-16 | Week 20-22 | Week 24-26 | Week 28 | Week 30 | Week 32 | Week 34 | Week 36, then weekly until your baby is born. If additional visits are required, these can be arranged with no additional out-of-pocket expenses.

Procedural information & locations

I deliver at both the Royal Hospital For Women and the Prince of Wales Private Hospital. I limit the number of patients I deliver each month in line with my ethos to provide personalised care. At antenatal appointments, I consult on each pregnancy’s progress, address any concerns, and explore birthing options.

Each mother-to-be will have a different pregnancy journey and I am happy to discuss and try to accommodate individual wishes as much as possible. The priority is always on the safety and well-being of you and your baby. In addition to the support that I provide during a patient’s pregnancy, on occasion, I may recommend the services of allied health professionals whom I respect and have found useful, both personally and for my previous patients.

I work with a small group of four other female highly skilled obstetricians in an on-call partnership, – Dr Nadya ChamiDr Siobhan Lee, Dr Louise Fay, and Dr Sarah Clements. Should I be away or have the weekend off, one of these lovely obstetricians will look after my practice.
